THE BROKEN CABLE.

[by teleokaph.— press association.] Wellington, Wednesday. The Sherard Osborne, which has arrived here to repair the cable, will not leave for three or four days, as she has to take in a quantity of cable. Dr. Lemon will superintend the operations, and Captain Grey, late of the Government steamer Stella, will pilot the steamer in the Straits. Dr. Lemon, who returned from Blenheim today, where he has been making tests of the disabled cable, is confident the break is about five miles from this end.
