'r '. Wellington, Wednesday. Amongst the Sydney passengers by the Pukaki is Mr. Andrews, representative of Lloyd's, who comes over with the object of getting the Pleione off Otaki Beach. Richard Hogarth, who was severely injured in a train accident on Saturday, today succumbed to his injuries. The annual report of the Wellington Patent Slip Company shows a credit balance of £2*274 15s, a sum of £1094 15s being written off the property and plant account. The directors recommend a dividend of 5 per cent. A meeting of the Wellington Opera House Company was held this evening, at which it was stated that the books of the company were very carelessly kept, there being no entry in the cash-book since 28th November. The chairman stated that the directors would probably resign, and a general meeting would be called at an early date to determine the desirableness of selling the remains of the building and the site.

At a meeting of members of the Wellington Athenaeum for the purpose of considering resolutions with respect to the disposal of the building, etc., the Mayor,, who presided, stated that the liabilities were £8000, assets £2000.
