[BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Thursday. H. W. Brabant has been appointed to execute leases and receive rents, under the Thermal Springs Districts Act. Theodore M. Lawson is gazetted Receiver of Gold Revenue and Mining Registrar for Te Aroha. A sitting of the Appeal Court is fixed for the 7th May. A notice is gazetted that the port of Pahi has been reopened under the Customs Laws Consolidation Act. ' •'• ■ ' The Hon. J. W. Fortescue is gazetted Private Secretary to His Excellency the Governor vice Major Jervois, and Captain Medley succeeds Mr. Fortescue as aide-de-camp. r~: } The appointment of A. W. D. Bell, as engineer of defences, is gazetted. ; ft is notified that in consequence of the reduction in the New Zealand Permanent Force,»the services of Lieutenant-Colonel Roberts have been dispensed with. ; , A further despatch relating to the entry of engineer students in -Her Majesty's services is gazetted. It is in contemplation to admit a limited number of these students in 1889, and for that year only the maximum age will be extended to 17. -y* •'■•_>■' : ; The members of the Medical Association are to meet a committee of the City Council on Wednesday evening next, to discuss the fever epidemic; and the members of the Hospital staff are to be invited to attend. ■
