[PRESS ASSOCIATION.] 1 OUTRAGE BY CHINAMEN. Melbourne, April 10. Four Chinamen stuck up and murderously assaulted another, on the high road near Shepperton to-day. Sticks and tomahawks were freely used by the assailants. A STEAMER ASHORE. Melbourne, April 10. The s.s. Titus, while loading potatoes at Warrnambool for Sydney to-day went ashore during a heavy gale. RAILWAY ACCIDENT. Melbourne, April 10. The express from Sydney to-day ran into and smashed several trucks at Wodonga. The engine was disabled. It is alleged that the driver disregarded the danger signals at the station. THE RABBIT CONFERENCE. Sydney, April 10. The Rabbit Conference will commence its sittings on Monday next. THE COMPLAINTS AGAINST MR. A. SMITH. Melbourne, April 10. The charges against the administration of Mr. Alison Smith are scouted in railway circles, and unless some specific charges are preferred, it is improbable that any notice will be taken of the resolution passed by the mass meeting of railway hands held on Saturday. A NEW THEATRE. Adelaide, April 10. _ A new theatre is to be erected in Currie-street. * TWO GIRLS KILLED. Melbourne, April 10. Two little girls, who were crossing the railway line at Sandhurst in a dust storm, were killed by a train. INTERCOLONIAL TONNAGE. Sydney, April 10. Intercolonial tonnage is scarce, and freights are hardening. Approximate rates are : Auckland, 8s 6d ; Lyttelton, ! 7s 6d ; Wellington, 8s ; Napier, 10s 6d ; Timaru, 9s ; Dunedin, 7s 6a. , 2900 tons of coal were exported to New Zealand during the past month, and tonnage for j Auckland is particularly scarce. WEST AUSTRALIAN CONSTITUTION DEBATE. Perth (W.A.), April 10. The debate, on responsible Government is concluded. A resolution was passed demanding a contribution from the whole colony without special legislation for the northern district waste lands, ■declining the .single Chamber proposals, and rejecting tne suggestion of a Board of Control for the aborigines, independent of the Ministry.
