WAIWERA.
It was with sincere regret that I listened to the farewell sermon of the Rev. J. \V. Griffin on Sunday last. He is leaving this district to take charge of the Kawakawa circuit, and had been called upon before his departure to unite several young couples in marriage. The last couple was Mr. Richard Howell and our late schoolmistress, Miss Pheeny. Amid many difficulties Mr. Griffin has manfully struggled to do his duty inside and outside the church both at Waiwera and surrounding districts, and leaves many friends behind him who look upon his departure with regret. They all sincerely desire that he and Mrs. Griffin may enjoy a long and useful life wherever their lot may be cast.—{A Correpondent, April 2.]
