HEAVY RAINFALL IN THE SOUTH.

[BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] Greymouth, Tuesday. It has been raining more or less heavily the last few days, the downfall being especially heavy in the Upper Valley. News has been received from Little Grey Junction stating that the water there is as high as the Jubilee flood. At Brunnerton it was a foot lower. Here the river is in very high flood, the water being within 2 feet 6 inches of the top of the wharf ; but it is not expected to flood the town, as the rain has stopped, and the weather is now fine.
