Melbourne, January 12. Many applications have been made to the Chamber of Commerce urging the Postmaster-General to get the cable rates cheapened, and cipher words only charged specially in mixed telegrams.

RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
Sydney, January 12.
Two engines, with trucks attached, collided on the Northern line near Gosford yesterday, smashing the trucks and injuring six of the workmen.

ADELAIDE MARKETS. Adelaide, January 12. "Wheat is dull of, sale at 3s 2d for shipping parcels. - Flour, roller made, is £9. Hops are firmer.
