SERIOUS ACCIDENT AT PUKEKARORO.
Ox Saturday, April 2, a man named French or Frenchier, met with a severe accident, which resulted in a compound fracture of one of his legs. Afl far as can be gathered, the unfortunate man was at the time of the accident assisting to bring out kauri logs from the Pukekaroro bash. The trucks on which the log was being conveyed by some means became disunited, French, who was acting brakesman, getting his leg severely smashed, at the same time being thrown for some distance from the truck. On hearing of the disaster, the Rev. Mr. Tobin, who was in the neighbourhood, immediately hastened to the scene, and with the heroic assistance of the sufferer, bound up the fractured limb. 1 Mr. Tobin remained several hours with the injured man, who gratefully acknowledged the humane services rendered by the rev.. gentleman.
