[press ASSOCIATION,] New Plymouth, Sunday. The Tarunaki Agricultural Society's Grain, Root, and Dairy Produce Show on Saturday waß successful. There were a large number of exhibits and a good attendance of visitors. Hawera, Saturday. The premises belonging to Mr. L. England, at Normanby, and partly occupied by Mr. J. H. Carroll, have been destroyed by fire. The premises were insured for £300 in the Norwioh Union office. . Palmerston North, Sunday. _ The football match between the local team and the Ponekes (Wellington), on Saturday, was won by the latter by six points (goal from field and try) to nil. Christchurch, Saturday. The match between the Merivale and Union (Wellington) Football Clubs this afternoon was won by Merivale by two goal* and a try to nil. The goals were kicked from the field by Crowe and Dallas. Merivale had much the best of the game.
