DRAMA.
Abbott's Opera House has been the only theatre opened for some time. There have been some improvements effected in the house as regards accoustics, etc., and they are largely appreciated. When our last summary was published, Mr. George Rignold and his company occupied the stage, and he finished up a jjood season with " In the Ranks," "Confusion," and "All Alone." Mr. W. E. Sheridan, supported by Miss Louise Davenport and an admirably-selected company, then essayed a season of Shakesperian and legitimate drama. Amongst the productions put forward were : " King Lear," " Lous XL," "Ingomar," "Richelieu," "The Merchant of Venice," and " Hamlet."
