THE ENGLISH MAILS.

By the arrival of the 8.8. Tarawera from Sydney on Tuesday laßt we were placed in possession of dates from London up to April 3. On the 14th instant the Messageries Maritimes steamer Sydney reached Adelaide with mails from London to April 5, and on the 12th instant the Orient Company's s.s. Orient arrived at Adelaide, having mails on board from London up to April 9, and on Thursday last the P. and O. Company's 8.8. Valotta reached King George's Sound with London mails on board to April 16. The R.M.8.8. Rlararoa, which left Sydney on Thursday for Auckland, en route to San Francisco with the homeward mails, is expected to be the bearer of the mails brought by the Messageries Maritimea boat Sydney and the s.s. Orient, thus placing as in possession of dates from London to April 9. The Mararoa is due here on Monday evening next. The Valetta's mails to the 16th April will bo brought to Auckland by the b.s. Rotomahana, due here on the Ist June.. The New Zealand Shipping Company's R.M. steamer Kaikoura, which arrived at Dunedin yesterday, has dates from London to the 10th of April, and she is expected to reach here with them on Tuesday next. The R.M.s.s. Alameda, which is due here from San Francisco on Friday next, has a mail on board from London up to the '22nd April. Of the mails outward bound the steamship Tainui, of Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's line, is to leave Lyttelton on the 29th inßtant for London direct. Her mails leave Auckland on Tuesday morning next, and she is due in London on the 10th July. The New Zealand Shipping Company's R.M.s.s. Ruapeliu is to leave Lyttelton on the 3rd June, and her mails from here will be made up About the Ist June. The Ruapohu will be due in London on the loth July. The mails by the R.M.a, Mararoa, which is to leave here for San Francisco on Tuesday afternoon next, are due in London on the 30th June next.
