The Roumelian business is not progressing satisfactorily. Prince Alexander Is naturally desirous of being appointed Governor for life of the new province. The Porte, however, is opposed to this course, preferring that the appointment should be for a limited term. It is expected that the Prince will ultimately accept the Porte's conditions.
