— m AUCKLAND SUMMER MEETING. TRAINING NOTKS. The beautiful weather of Yesterday morning
again allowed trainers treating their respective teams to good sound work. The Cup favourite, Stonyhurst, was the first to come on the track, Cutts sending him twice rouud at a good pace, the colt moving very freely throughout, and finishing strong ; Nelson and Wapiti accomplishing a like journey, the chestnut showing to most advantage. Tasman, after completing onco round by himself, was picked up by Blarney, who accompanied him for the next turn, when Musk Rose joined the son of St. Albans. The pair came along in good style, both finishing well. Tasman was a bit lazy at commencing, but after being roused up no fault could be found with his performance, tho old fellow finishing very strong. Foul Shot and Tet'ord were put together for a mile and a-half spin, in which the former appeared to have the best of it. Chaafe's team, consisting of Turquoise, Necklace, Derringer, Radames, Musk, and King, were all out, doing good useful work. There was little business doing throughout yesterday on the Auckland Cup. Stonyhurst still rules as favourite M; 5 to 2, and 3 to 1 is the best price obtainable about Tasman. 100 to 10 was on i tie*- about Foul Shot, but there were no takers. Macaroni has been installed favourite u.r the Steeplechase at 100 to \>o, Granville and King coming next at 100 to 15. There will be a meeting at Tattersall's Club to-night. Ihe Otahuhu race meeting takeß place tomorrow. The railway authorities have made arrangements for a special train, leaving Auckland for the Otahuhu Racecourse Crossing at ten minutes past one p.m., stopping at intermediate stations to piok up passengers. The train will leave Otahuhu Racecourse Crossing for Auckland at five miuutes past six p.m. sharp. The first forfeits in connection with the Auckland Derby, and Great Foal Stakes, acceptances for the Stud Company's Stakes, and general entries in connection with the A.R.C. Summer Meeting, are due to-night.
