TEE NEW ZEALAND FORCES.
[BY TELEORAPH.—OWN correspondent.] Wellington, Friday. The scale of pay of the soveral branches of the several forces has been revised. The new scale will take effect from the first of next month. It is expected that a saving of between £7000 and £SOOO will be effected by the alterations, which are as follows : — Artillery : Sergeant-major, 9s per diem ; instructors, 9* ; sergeants, Ss Cd; corporals, Ss; bombardiers, 7s 61 ; first-class gunners, 7a; second-class gunners, (is 6d; third - class gunners, 6s. Engineers : Sergeant-majors and foreman, S3 per diem ; sergeant, 7* til; artificers, 7s. Torpedo branch: Lieutenant superintendent, £250 per annum ; petty officers. 8s per diem ; engineers, 9s ; artificers, 7« ; able-bodied seamen, 7s. Torpedo men, firstclass, Gs fid ; second-class, 6*.
