At a meeting of the Federation League, held at Liverpool to-day, resolutions were passed affirming that the federation of the Empire is essential, but deprecating any attempts to interfere with the rights of the local Parliaments. THE UNION BANK OF AUSTRALIA. London, July 16. The Union Bank of Australia has declared a dividend for the past halfyear at the rate of §\ per cent, per annum, and carries forward and places to the reserve fund £56,000. THE SUEZ MAIL. Albany, July 16. The P. and O. Company's Parramafcta, with the London mails dated June 12, arrived in King George's Sound last night. LONDON MARKETS. London, July 15. Consols are an advance of \. New Zealand securities are unchanged. The market rate is f, and the bank rate 2 per cent. Colonial breadstuff's remain at previous quotations. Wool.—To-day's market was quiet. Arrived: Loch Fergus, from Oamaru, March 14. THE TONGARIRO. London, July 15. The New Zealand Shipping Company's Tongariro, from Wellington, June 7, arrived at Plymouth last night. Her frozen meat cargo is reported to be in good condition.
