ENGLAND, FRANCE, AND THE NEW HEBRIDES.

Ddnkdin, Thursday* The Missionary Committee of the Presbyterian Church have received a reply to their memorial to the Secretary of State for the Colonies in reference to the French occupation of the New Hebrides. The reply statea that no proposal for the annexation of the Group would be entertained without consulting the colonies, and securing conditions satisfactory to them, and England would never think of giving over the Group to France without taking care they would never become a penal settlement.
