[BY telegraph—press ASSOCIATION. 1 Kaiapoi, Wednesday. The official declaration of the result of the Southern Maori election was'madia at Kaiapoi to-day, The numbers polled were the same as previously telegraphed, and Tamati Pratt was. declared ejected. .Henare Par#tini protested against the validity of the election, on the ground that the-' Returning Officer had failed to give the. number of votes polled for each candidate at the various gazetted polling place*. In the evening .a public dinner was given at the pa, and attended by a number of Maoris and Europeans. ■ . s
