[beutkr's telegram.] (Received January 8, 2.5 p.m.) v ' THE ANNEXATION QUESTION,
Melbourne, January 8. A public meeting was held at the Town Hall on the Pacific annexation question It was attended by fully four thousand persons. A meeting was also held last evening at Ballarat, to consider the question, and resolutions similar in purport to those adopted at the Town Hall meeting were passed. About four thousand persons were present. "
