MATCH AT OXFORD. [renter's CABLEGRAM. J London, May 15. The cricket match, the Australian team v. the eleven of Oxford University, commenced at Oxford to-day. The weather was cold and inclement, and the wicket somewhat : r bumpy. The visitors went in first, and were all disposed of for 148, the highest scorers being Banner man, c, 32 ; Midwinter, c, 20; and Blackham, b, 73. The bowling of the home team was dead on the wicket and their fielding excellent, some splendid catches being made. The home team then commenced their first innings, and when the stumps were drawn for the day had scored 106 for the loss of four wickets. O'Brien, not out, 30, and Brain, 'not out, 51. In the bankruptcy division of the Supreme Court of Judicature, an order was granted to-day for the compulsory winding up of the affairs of the Oriental Bank Corporation. A Press Association message says:— The suggestion that two liquidators should be appointed on behalf of Victoria, in connection with the Oriental Bank, is objected to by the GoUrt, on the ground that it would considerably increase the expense. At to-day's wool sales 11,300 bales were offered. The market continues firm. The total quantity offered since the opening is 161,000 bales ; 13,250 have been withdrawn.
