The following letter from Messra. Stewart Dawson and Co., the celebrated watch manufacturers of Liverpool, will give the public an idea of the value of' tha Auckland Weekly Niiws as an advertising medium :—" Gentlemen, —It is just five years since we first made ourselves known to the public of New Zealand through. the Press of the colony. A long and widespread experience in the old country in acquiring publicity, and in keeping up our extensive connections by the same, taught us to approach the colonial Press with judicious care in selecting the best and most reliable mediums. We certainly cannot refrain, on this important vi»t of ours to the colonics, from returning our sincere. thanks to the hundreds who have - become customers through the Auckland Wkbkly News. No doubt many will.be surprised to hear that our first announcements brought hundreds of orders, with remittances of cash, J from . the colony, all the' way to Liverpool, England, 13,000 miles. We may here mention that the number of orders received through the Auckland Weekly News stood at the top of the list of all the W3ekly New Zealand papers and was only exceeded by one other paper in Australia, and it is doubly gratifying to be able to say that we then made many valued customers from amongst its readers who have continned to patronise us to this day.
