The brigantine Myrtle was hauled alongside the barque Lutterworth yesterday, for the purpose of transhipping into that vessel, for London, her cargo of Island produce. The s.B. Orawaiti ha'ving finished putting into the Doric her cargo of coal, took her departure early yesterday morning for Westport. The Union Company'a s.s. Waihora, from Sydney, came into harbour yesterday, bringing a small general cargo for this port. In coming alongside the wharf the Waihora unfortunately fouled the jibboom of the ship Turakina, carrying it away. The berth (H) allotted to the Waihora is a most inconvenient one for steamers to get into ; more particularly is it so when the wind is from the southward, with an ebb tide. Captain Edie dld all in his power to avert the damage, but the wind and tide swept the vessel's bows round against his best efforts, and so did the damage named. Other than the carrying away of the gear named no other damage was done. Of the passage from Sydney Capt. Edie reports having left the company's wharf at 1.20 p.m. Ist instant; passed Three Kings at 2.30 p.m. on. the sth, arriving at Auckland Wharf at 12.30 p.m. on the 6ih. Experienced Btrong easterly gale with heavy ram until the morning of the sth; thence to arrival moderate easterly winds with fine weather. The Waihora is to take on for Southern ports the larger portion of the s.s. Doric's cargo.
