A meeting of the members of the Rodney l Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held in the Mahurangi Public Hall oa Friday evening last. Present : Mr. Moore, Chairman ; Mswcrs. Jordan, Moriaon, Munro, R. Phillips, Shaw, Such, and G.' Thomson. A letter was received from Sir George Grey, declining to accept the position' of President of the society, trat offering any seeds, cuttings, &c, for the benefit of the society. Mr. Such moved, " That a deputation from tho committee consisting of Messrs. Jordan, Thomson, aod the mover," wait on Captain Somcrville, and point out to him the state of tide, moon, &c, and request; that the steamer be delayed until ten o'clock p.m. on the night of the show." Seconded by Mr. Munro, and carried unanimously. Moved by Mr. Munro, seconded by Mr. Such, "That a band be employed for the day of the show, and that the Secretary be instructed to write to tbe different bandmasters in Auckland, asking on what con« ditions they would attend." An amendment was moved by Mr. Morrison, seconded by Mr. Shaw, " That there be no band." Another amendment was moved by Air. Jordan, and seconded by Mr. R. Phillips, to tho effect that a band be employed, but restrict* ing the coat. For Mr. Jordan's amendment, five—viz., Jordan, Munro, Phillips, Such, Thomson. Against, Morison and Shaw. Several other matters were brought forward and arrauged, such as luncheon, dinner, hall, etc., and tho Secretary was instructed to give notice of next meeting.—[Own Correspond dent, January 7. J
