TE AROHA TRIAL CRUSHINGS.

From telegrams received in town yesterday from the fe Aroha field we are pleased to learn that the trial crnsbings of two of the mines there have given most handsome retarns, and if such can only be kept up, we cannot bat anticipate an excellent future for the mines referred to. From the Inverness mine five tons of stoff from the No. 2 reef was pat through the new mill, and the result was the handsome return of twenty-one ounces fifteen dwts. of gold, which is equal to over four ounces to the ton,' and this return is not from picked stuff. The second trial crushing wa3 from the F claim at the same place, and the return from one ton of stone was six ounces of gold. These returns are moat enoonraging—all the more so at the present time, when mining business is at so low an ebb.
