Mr. Charles White, manager of the Wellington Land and Building Company and Wellington Building Society, and Albion Gold-mining Company, who left here on the sth iust. in the mail steamer, ostensibly with the object of visiting the suburbs of Auckland, is believed to have left the colony by •the San Francisco mail steamer. The police authorities have the matter in hand, and are making enquires to ascertain, if possible, the whereabouts of Mr. White.
