Winze on No. -J reef, further seaward : I have two men employed here, and have sunk ii few feet into the solid, but have not broken «lo»ii the liunffintjwttll portion of the lead yet. The leader ia split liy a band of sandstone, but I believe will come together again in about live or six feet of sinking, when I expect it miijht to make some K olil. Nn. 4 reuf i'No. U level): Driving north on this reef, from bottoni of winze, lias been resuitoil this week, and will bi! pushed ahead with all possible sp.ioil, ull.l when a sutllciuiit distance ahead, a leading stojie will lie commenced, to follow the drive al.m K . 1 also intend starting tu drive tliis week, on tin. leader lately cut near tlio bottom of the winze. Crushing : 1 am only able to keep the battery employed twelve h.-.urs per day at present, owing to having so many hands nngagoil doing dead work, but. in the cimrvc of a week or so, I will be rightly under way in No. 2 luvel. whan I will be able to keep the battery fully employed. Wo cleaned up and retorted on Tuesday last, after nine days run, for a return of lS:Iozs. retorted koW.
