; [fbom oua owx coßscsronDEMTs.l Hamilton, Thursday. IaERE was only one case of interest at the Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday, that of Innis v. Pearce. The plaintiff is a brewer and cordial maker, of Te Awainutu, and th* defendant the late landlord of the Commercial Hotel here. The claim was for £12, for lemonade bottles not returned from tho Ohaupo racecourse in 1870. The action has been previously brought, and plaintiff nonsuited. He «-was again nonsuited to-day, with costs, 3ls, and gave notice of appeal to the Snpreme Conrt, on the grounds that the judgment was contrary to the evidence. Cambridge, Thursday. The funeral of Major Drummond Hay was attended by a large number of persona yesterday in carriages and on foot. The funeral service was read by the Rev. N. DeL. Willis. Tuhikaramea, Thursday. At the annual meeting of ratepayers;.of the Tnhikaramea district, Messrs. W. Anderson, P. W. Laing, Vickcra, Hadfield, and Davies were elected trustees, Messrs. R, Carter and Davys fence-viewers, and Messrs. G2asson and Reid auditors. •
