AICKiK, "T H E P H A R M A C Y," queen-street, auckland, General Importer of Drugs, Chemicals, Stjrgicallnstruments and Recherche Toilet Articles. i A True Story.—A pale, thin, and anxious-looting man, went into a druggist's shop in Queen-street, and told the chemist the story of his troubles. He was a sufferer from a chronic cheet complaint, which inflicted him with many Bleepless nights, owing to the incessant cough. . His chest felt tight and constricted in breathiag, and the tenacious phlegm was a continual source of annoyance and irritation. He feared. "he was consumptive, and that there was not much to he done, as he had tried everything;" however, as a last resource he would try Aickin's Syrup «f Eucalyptus, -with Hypophosphites of Lime and Quinine. Having procured a bottle, the chemist advised him to show it to his medical man, as it was not a quack remedy, but purely a pharmaceutical preparation of great value. In addition, he should adhere to small doses of pure cod liver oil, which could be taken at the same time as the Eucalyptus and j Hypophosphites. A fortnight passed, and the sam pale, delicate-looking man returned to the shop in Queen-street, and asked for his friend the chemist. The invalid then'recounted, with a bright eye and hopeful face, the effects of the wonderful medicine: "I soon found the worrying phlegm become more liquid, and expectoration was quite free, consequently I was relieved from the dreadful cough. I feel so thankful I can now sleep at nights. During the day I feel a mountain lifted off my chest, and I can eat heartily and relish my food, which I could never do before.'" Do yon think. it possible this improvement would have tal.en place in ordinary course without the medicine?—" Certainly not,"' the invalid replied, "I had suffered too long for that; however, I shall take two bottles more, and report to you further." About a fortnight since the same person called upon the chemist. He was no longer pale nor careworn ; a tinge of healthy red had returned to the pale features of the now convalescent patient. He had merely to say, "I have called to tell you that I consideryourmedicine (the Eucalyptus with Hypophosphites) has saved my life. I feel lam I getting better rapidly, and I should tell you that although I have had remedies prescribed for me in Sydney, Melbourne, and other places, nothing relieve J me until I got your medicine. I thank you very much, and will make its value known to everyone affected as I was. I shall note the address—' The Pharmacy,' Queen-street." —[Advt.] /V WELL-ESTABLISHED REMEDY. It Cures by Nature's own law, absorption This method of curing disease, rather than by diusging and dosing the (stomach, is so wel! understoot that a Committee iy t e Hoyal Medical Society to investigate the subject reported as follows:-"The Kcuvity of nearly every sub-tince that can be used is three, if not four, times greater if given by the skin than if swallowed."
