Bryan, and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Heron. The cargo consists of 4623 bales of wool, G7 bales of skins. December 2G.—Arrived : The barque Lutterworth. from London, with 95J statute adults. She left on September 12, and had an uneventful passage. No deaths occurred during the passage. The barque Harold Thorpe, from Boston, arrived this afternoon.

December 27. —The ship Bebington, from London, arrived last night, and was immediately taken to the quarantine ground by the pilot. She has 130 passengers. The Harbourmaster and Health Officer have just returned. Scarlet fever broke out ten days after leaving London, and the ship has not been cle?»r since. One child died. There are two other cases on board. It is believed a large number of passengers will be allowed pratique in a week's time. January 2.—Arrived : The ship Western Monarch, from London, was towed into harbour this morning. She briugs IGO passengers. LYTTLETON.

December IS —The ship Rakaia cleared for London this evening. She takes saloon passengers, and 7 in the steerage, and the following cargo :—4573 bales of wool, 94 packages tallow, 47 bales skins. 918 hides, 24,500 feet timber, and sundries. Total value, £73,039. December 18.—Cleared : Merope, for London, with a large cargo. December 29. -Arrived : South Esk, from London, with 241 passengers ; all well. C. B. Hay, a passenger, died on October 24, from apoplexy. The vessel was 92 days on the passage, having left London on September 27- The Equator was crossed October 27. N.E., S.E., and westerly trades were good. Was off south of Now Zealand on December 28. Had N. winds 011 the coast. December 31. —Arrived : Hereford, from London, last night, 85 days out, with 393 immigrants (all well), and 11 saloon passengers, 3 children. Annie Cross, Henry Smith, and Beatrice Jenkins died on the passage. The passage was a moderate weather one. On November 15, 11 p.m., in lat. 38* S., 6* W., Dr. George Thomas Baird Moffatt. ship's surgeon, went aloft for a wager with a saloon passenger, aral, coming down over the maintopgallant yard, missed hi 3 hold, and struck the ratlines, aud fell into the sea. The Bhip was going about six knots, and there was a very rough sea on. The vessel was labouring heavily. The helm was instantly put down, the yards brought aback, and a boat got out, and pulled in the 'Urection which it was thought Dr. Moffutt w«»y, but, after searching for an hour without avail, the vessel resumed her course.

December 23.—Arrived : Albion Co.'s ship Auckland, oS days from Glasgow. She brings 455 immigrants, and 13 saloon passengers. Forty cases of measles have occurred during the voyage. The last case was convalescent yesterday. There were seven deaths (six infants and one adult) and five births. The passengers will be placed on the Quarantine Island, and the ship thoroughly fumigated before receiving pratique.

December 24.—The ship Bruce, from Calcutta, struck on the middle bank, at the ent-mnce between the North and South channels, about 2 p.m., she came in without a jii'ioE and in defiance of the signal that the bar wr,a dangerous. The tug Koputai towed her olf at 4 p.m.

DUNEDIM. December 20.—Arrived : Kerachon, barqne from Foo Chow. Sailed : Jlatura. for London' December 31.—Arrived : Ada Wiswell, from New York, 133 days out, with 1100 tons cargo —half for Dunedin, and the rest for Lyttelton.
