A correspondent from Daryaville writes : — On the 12th Dcc. Mr. D. I.ynoli gave a grand ball, to celebrate the completion of his first year in this popular and rising hotel. In response to a general invitation, a large number gathered, and a most enjoyable night was spent. .Everything possible was made in the way of preparations, the decorations being specially worthy of note. Daylight only put an end to the festivities, and all went away with increased appreciation of the landlord and his good lady.
