The object of the meeting h is to atTord a due reception on behal: o: the lai'-y. His Grace is expected to arrive °y the next mail steamer on Tuesday. A reception comuiittee, consisting of Dr. L*e. tiie Hon. P. Dignan, M.L.C., Messrs. J T. Boylan, W. G. Connolly, G. Leahy. V'm. Eyre. J. Cosgrave, K. Leydon, J. Larkins, P. Brophy, lJauiel Lynch, P. Darin', W. K. Ciitton, and J. Flynn. The appointment of the committee was to prepare sn address ou behalf of the laity to the new bishop. and to assist in receiving him on his arrival »" Auckland wharf. The address pas partially drawn up. This address will, of course, lie handsomely illuminated. The intention is that the elcrgy, with the committee and others who can afford the time, will meet Archbishop Steins on the wharf, and escort him to the cathedral, where a service o; thanksgiving will be held for his safe arrival. At 7 o'clock in the evening the addresses ot the clergy, laity, the Christian Doctrine ■>:-cie'.y, and the Hibernian Society will be presented. The proceedings will be of a n;ost impressive character.
