Tenders will be received by the Liquidators until MONDAY, the 24tb March, at noon, for the whole of the Company's Steamers in one lot, or for any of them singly. The fleet consists of the following vessels, viz.:— S.S. 'RANGATIRA,' 227 TONS P.S. ' MANAWATU; 139 TONS S.S. • STORMBIRD,' 9S TONS S.S. • JANE DOUGLAS,' 95 TONS COAL HULK ' EUROPEAN.' All the steamers are in thorough working order. Tho 'Rangatira' was supplied with a new boiler and compound engines by F. w. Mills, Esq., about seventeen months ago, at a cost of between five and six thousand pounds, and is now in first-class order, and very economical in coals. Tho p.s. * Manawatu * has just had her machinery thoroughly overhauled and her bottom painted, and is in excellent order. A tender has been accepted by E. W. Mills for new cylinders for s.s. ' Stormbird," which is expected to be completed before the day or sale. The s.s. 'Jane Douglas'is only about three years old, with compound engines, is a very handy vessel, and very economical in ccal. The hulk * European ' is built of hardwood, and will hold about 1200 tons of coaL A net profit of over £5000 sterling was made last year on the working account, as shewn by the balancesheet recently issued.
