It is very necessary to insnre that nothinsr i< 1 exhibited which does not excel in quality. Exhibitors especially < f wool,*hould thereforabe very careful in their selection of specimens. 10. The principal articles the collection of *hich the Commissioners would urge are as follow [the maximum and minimum quantities which will be received *re also given where limit is necessary} (1.) GOLD. (2.; GRAIN—I bushel. (3.) WOOL—lib. to 51b. fleeces, or 10*bs. to 501b. scoured. (4.) COAL (sections of seams and samples of; — minimum, 251b*. (5) TlMßEß—Series of nniform samples only. Sections with the bark on and onlv half the face polished, the other half being left in its natural state. Specimens to be not longer than 3 feet, except as in the case of sampies illustrative of the extreme growth to which particular trees attain. (6.) FLAX—Dressed Fibre, in 501bs. bales. ROPE, and other MANUFACTURED , 1 ARTICLES. (7.) KAURI GUM—Maximum,solbs.: minimum, SOJba. This is much UJied, and a carefully- , m:ide collection would be of importance to the colony. (S.) TANNING BARKS. LEATHER. DY£S. PAINT. (9.) PRESERVED MEAT — Maximum, 501b?.; minimum, 30lbs. (10.) WINE. BEER, and SPIRITS—In bottlemaximum, 2 gallons. l?cer in wood —icaxi- : mum, 18 gallons. I (11.) WORKS OF ART—Onjy those illustrative of New Zealand tcenery and natural history; plans, maps, &c. (15.) MISCELLANEOUS ARTICLES—OnIy such as illustrate the history of the country or it 3 inhabitants. 11. If such specimens of the raw products of the colony as are enumerated above are not freely given, the Commissioners will take into favourable consideration any suggestions made by Local Committees as to their purchase. 12. The Commissioners will use every endeavour to provide against the. loss or damage of the collections, which will be duly insured, but they will not hold tLemselvts or the Government responsible for any damage or logs. 13. Any Exhibits not absolutely given to or bought by the Commissioners (unless the owners expressly desire that they be disposed of at Sydney) will be teturoed to the Local Committees at the expense of the Commissioners, who, however, will not bo responsible for any damage or loss. 14. Local Committees will, at their discretion, accept articloe for exhibition, subject to final revision by the Commissioners, as space for exhibition ia limited. 15. Local Committees are recommended to appoint Sub-Committees to assist tbem in seeing that none but first-rate specimens of raw products are forwarded to Wellington. A copy of the General By-laws and Regulations, and Schedule of Priz s, may be seen at the rooms of the Chamber, next to the Auckland Club, Shordandstreet. Intending Exhibitors are requested to advise the Committee as soon as possible what articles they intend to send for exposition. As scon as arrangements are made for the reception of Exhibits, notice willbe given of the place, aDd time up to which they can be received at Auckland, and, if practicable, arrangements will be made for their exhibition at Auckland, prior to shipment.
