PRINCE OF WALES THEATRE.
OPERA DI CA3EERA. The repetition of " Chilperic, , ' at the above theatre, drew a good house on Saturday evening. The promise of the first night— that the new company would be very successful —was amply fulfilled. The success achieved on the opening night iuspired corfidence, both in performers and audience, and everything went well. The singing wa3 really good—voices and orchestra being *or the most part in unison. The manner rti which " Chilperic" was put upon the sta~e was also highly creditable. A very respectable donkey made his debut, and acquitted himself creditably. The opening certainly augar3 a successful season for comic operas. The light and sparkling music, the endless varietyof costumeandcolor consistent with perfect refinement, the "locals" (some of which are very good), all combine to give completeness of effect. The repertoire an nounced is interesting, as most of these operettas arc novelties, the music not having been heard here before. It includes "1/ CEil Creve," " Girotla-Girofla," " Nemesis, " "iLaChafcto Blanche," the last of which is in active preparation.
