NEW ZEALAND AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The monthly meeting of the above Society was held on the 3rd September, 1867.

Present:—Tho President in the ohair, and 15 members.

The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed.

Mr. AliTlost proposed, and Mr. Bassect seconded, . Mr. Josoph Lyle and Captain Ewing, as members of the Society.

Mr_. Maetxn, Vice-President, in the absence of Mr! Sun"iman, moved—"That the Society send three different samples of soils to.the Government geologist, to have then analysed."

Seconded by Mr. J. Robertson - , and carried.'. Moved .by Mr. Vebcoe, and seconded by Sir. AIiLOM, "That the President, Vice - President,. Secretary, and Mr. James Runciman, bo a: committee to carry out the foregoing r«solutions."—Carried. Moved by John Wamace, seconded by Mr. B. . Robertson, " That a special general meeting of the Society be held on Tuesday next, at' 3 p.m., to consider the definability of holding another cattle Bhow, and that the Secretary insert an advertisement in the papers to that effect, and invite the public to attend"—Carried.

The Secbetauy laid upon the table the -nazals for the late cattle show, also ths certificate of merit for tho late autumnal show.

On inspection, numbers of the medals were found to be very incorrectly lettered.

Proposed by Mr. J. Yercod, seconded. by Mr.. Bassett, "That the medals which are correct be distributed at once, and that the Bub-committee previously appointed be requested to ! have the mistakes in the remaining ones rectiSed as speedily as possible, in any way they may think best."—Carried. . The meeting then terminated.
