He won ,he first prize at the Society's show at Campbell Town, L8(il, for the best imported draft stallion in the colony; md he won tlio same prize in the Society's show, held it Longford, in ISG2. " Major" will stand this season at the Junction Hotel, on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday ; at Otahuhu, it Mr. John Hall's, on Monday and Thursday ; and it Panmure, at Mr. Browne's, on "Wednesday, in each week. Terms, for the season: —Single mares, £7 10s.; ;wo or more, J;7 each. Groomage, at time of service, is. each mare. " P 11 I N C E." IHE FIRST-CLASS IMPORTED HEAVYDRAUGHT CLYDESDALE ENTIRE " PRINCE." Tho "Prince" is a beautiful black, stands 16-1 hands high, has splendid action, and beautiful proportion. He was bred by Robert Hutchison, Esq., of Craigsland, Dundonald, Ayrshire, Scotland; sire, the celebrated Clydesdale "Prince Albert;" grandsirc, " Fulton's Clyde ;" great grandsire, Frame's "Old Champion." Dam, by ' ; Clydesdale's Rival." He was selected (after wii.-insr, at "three years old, one first and three second prizes) and imported to Victoria, where he won two champion cups and two gold medals, besides several local prizes. He served three seasons most successfully in Victoria, his stock proving him one of tho best sires ever imported to the colonies. The "Prince" will stand at the Junction Hotel on Wednesday and Saturday; at Otahuhu, on Tuesiiay and Friday; and Panmure, on Monday and Thursday in each week. " Iron Duke" is a (lark grey or brown, stands 17 hands high, bred by Mr. Towshend, of Stonoy Staunton, nearly Hsnekl<iy,England ; are, "King Charles," dam, " Flora," whirh took tho second prize at the Royal Agricultural Society's Exhibition at Shrewsbury, and tin; first prize at the Northampton Exhibition of tho same society, as well as at the Provincial Exhibition of Leicester, Rugby; Ashby-de-la-Zouch, and Hincklev. Her lirst ioal " The Black Prince," (half-brother to the " Iron Duke") at thrceyears old took the first prize for dray horses at the Eoyal Agricultural Society's Exhibition at York, ami in the same year he won the Highland Agricultural Society's Silver Medal at Edinburgh. " Iron Duke" was exhibited and won tho first prize at the meeting of tho Leicester Agricultural Society, against all horses, when hardly two years old. He won the prize for the best imported heavy draft horse at Maitland, in New South Wales. " Iron Duke" will stand this season at the Junction Hotel, on Monday and Thursday; Otahuhu, "Wednesday and Saturday ; and Panmure, on Tuesday iind Friday in each week. Ill's sire, that far-famed horse old "Matchless," tho property of Mr. Duck, of Lincolnshire, which horse is the sire of more stallions than any horse in England. Grandsiro "Active," iho Cliampion of England, he having won 17 agricultural prizes. " Malchless's" dam, a splendid bay mare, by Mr, Eno's noted brown hGrse "Honest Tom," whicr. was allowed to be the b"st that, travelled in his day. It will be seen i'rom this pedigree that " Matchless " is descended, osi both -sides, from tho very best breed uf cart horses ii\ England, and cannot fail in get ting horses of tho highest value for agricultural and dray purposes. '• Matchless " was shown at the Peterborough Agricultural Show when a yearling, and obtained tin? iirst prize, beating five others ; he also wasshowi at Peterborough Entire Horse Show, and obtained the prize. Again, at Peterborough, in ISG2, lie took this prize, beating six others; and again, at Peterborough, in October ISGIi, he took tho first prize oi i-0, beating a large field of his class—thus proving himself to be ono of the be;t horses that England car produce.
