THE JURISS PATENT BOOT AND SHOE COMPANY, LIMITED. CAPITAL £5.000 in 5,000 Shares of £1 each, Of which 4,000 are efteied to the public. Terms— 2s 6d per shaie on application, 2s 6d on allotment. The lemaining 15s per share on calls not exceeding 2s 6d per share at intervals of not less than a month.
The Company has been formed foi the purpose of acquiring from the present proprietor theieof an invention by Maximilian Juriss, of Wellington, Gymnastic Instructor, of an improved means for securing the outer wearing faces to the soles of Boots and Shoes, for which Letters Patent have been granted to him in New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom, and of all Patent Eights that may be granted. The invention relates to that class of Boots and Shoes in which the outer oi wearing faces of the soles and heels are composed of removable pieces of leather so that they may be removed when worn, and replaced by fresh pieces without any trouble or the necessity of a bootmakei's services. The means devised consist of studs having enlarged heads that are secured upon the face of the removable sole at intervals over the surface thereof, and small metal plates, formed with slots therein, that are let into depressions formed in the surface of the permanent sole, and arranged in positions corresponding to the position at which the studs are placed on the sole. Each of these slots is formed with an enlarged end to allow of the head of the corresponding stud being inserted therein, and the slots are mads of just sufficient width to allow of the stems of the studs passing along them. Thus when the removable sole is placed upon the permanent sole so that the heads of all the studs will enter the corresponding slots, and it is given a sliding movement thereon, the heads will pass beneath the edges of the Blots, and thus serve to fasten the two soles together until a reverse movement is given them. The patent referred to is unique in the annals of footwear, and will undoubtedly revolutionise the patent methods of boot and shoe making repairing. It will at once be seen from an economical standpoint and its adaptability for immediate use, and it should at once become universally used, and special attention is directed to the great saving it would effect by being adopted by troops, forces, postal and other large bodies of men. Applications for shares should be made to the Secretary or to E, W. B. Hornabrook,. Broker, together with the amount payable on application. H. A. GOLD, Secretary, 15 Featherston Street, Wellington,
