Last Quarter, 20th, 6h. 24m. p.m. FARMING AND GARDENING. Field.—Fine weather this month, with occasional showers; continue to sow oats for green food, particularly on land foul with sorrel, &c. ; after potatoe harvest fallow such land and burn the weeds, &c, then sow with oats three bushels to the acre, to be grazed or cut in September or October; sow grass and rape, if preferred, for the same purpose; finish bush burning. Garden.—Begin planting potato-onions in a rich light soil, and let the soil be dry at the time of planting; earth up glowing crops. Fruit.—lf new plantations of strawberries were not made in February or March, do so now ; prepare the ground for the reception next month of fruit trees. Flowbrs.—Crysanthemums will now be in flower and should be made secure to stakes, or the high winds will damage their beauty, a little wetk liquid manure will cause them" to flower finely; sow annuals in poor soils, autumn sown are' always the earliest and frequently the handsomest; they will be ready for spring planting when the beds and borders are put in order; cuttings of China roses struck now will make blooming plants early next season ; commence planting bulbs.
