Some anxiety is being felt in shipping circles concerning the whereabouts of one 'of the Union Company's large cargo steamers. The .vessel left a New Zealand port some weeks ago for a Pacific Coast port., She was*due at her destination over a fortnight, ago, and although efforts have been made to get into touch witji the steamer by wireless, no' tidings have been received as to her possible whereabouts. Other steamers of the Union Company's fleet which use the same track as the overdue • vessel have been iristructeuV by wireless to keep a sharp look-out for her, and it is hoped that some news will be received at any time now. The steamer (the name 'of which cannot be mentioned), may possibly have met with an accident to her machinery.
