Kakaiuii was en fete last night when a "welcome home" was tendered tp Private Alex Cooper, and a "God ppeed" to Privates D. Craig and Evan Lawrenson. Mr T. Falconer, presided, and during the evening a short musical programme was rendered by-Misses Gallagher and Piper (pianoforte solos), Miss Denholm , and Messrs T. L. Ralfe ' and Williamson (songs). Cleverley moved a heaity vote of thanks to the performers and chahman, which was carried with acclamation. A sports gathering will l be held at Ngapnra oil Monday (New Year's Day) to raise funds for patriotic purposes. The North Olago Highland Pipe Band will be in attendance, Tea and sugar will be provided, and there will be a refreshment booth on the; grounds.; A social will be held in the hall in the evening.
