Wellington,. Sept, 2. Mr Secretary to theLa'bor Department, writes to the press that on seeing Mr Gilbert Anderson's accusation of deterioration in the slaughtering trade, he communicated with the'managers of the meat export companies throughout New Zealand, and with- hardly a solitary exception the reply is that there is no truth in Mr Anderson's allegations; in some cases the result of the recent awards has been to effect improvement and induce extra care.
