North Otago Times Office, Saturday Afternoon. Th» most noteworthy event of the past, week for the farming community has been Wednesday* fall of rain, which, if not copious, did many crops (both cereal and root) and the grass much good. The effect hai nob of course been felt in the commercial market, but a lot) of good has been done. It is quite impossible to quote prices, though we hare htard of a small line of velvet wheat which changed hands at 4s 7|d. The butter market continues weak, and eggs bring the sums figure a* last week. New wheat may be expected in the market within a fortnight.
