The rain continued till mid-day to day, when it cleared up, when apprehensions of » flood were being entertained. It is reported that very rich goldbearing atone has been discovered by Henry and Purser ak Cuttle Cove, Preservation Inlet. Three claims of 30 scree each have already been taken up. Th» reef is supposed to extend a great distance through country which is unbroken, in which caee it is beliered a now goldfield will be opened up.
