January 19. Arrived— Sovereign, from Timaru Jjp. Marshall has been committed for burglary
Tho Doric arrived from London, by way of Hobctrf, this afternoon, after a passage of 44 days 11 hours, including stoppages at ports. She left ou December 5.h, with 31 first, 28 second, and 110 third class passengers. She called at TenerifTe, and embarked at the Cape 38 passengers, chiefly for Australia. She landnd 57 paa.■eagers at Hobart. There was one birth. A steerage passenger named J Davie died this mornings. She brings 1300 tons of cargo for Auckland, 130 tous for Napier, 500 for Wellington, C9O for Ot»g<-, and 390 for Canterbury.
