Arrived, this morning — P. and 0. Oo.'s steamship Kohilla, with the inward mails via Suez and Brindiai, dated London, March 10. An outbreak of smallpox has occurred in this city. The case which has been reported to the police is that of Miss Southern, who recently arrived from Adelaide, and had been residing in Swanston street Tho patient has been placed in quarantine, and tho premises ißolated, every precaution being taken to prevent the sproad of contagion. The news has caused great consternation in tho oity. The weather has now thoroughly broken, and rain has fallen copiously in most parts of the colony.
