Consols remain at 101^. New Zealand 5 por cent. 10-40 loan and 5 per ceut. 1879 loan both remain at 105, bat the 4| por cent. haß advanced to 103£. Adelaide wheat, ox warehouse, remains at 545, New Zealand wheat, at 51s. and Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, at 36s 6d. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,620,000 quarters. Australian tallow — Best beef, 425; best mutton, 455. Scotch pig-iron is unchangod, No. 1, fob. in Clyde, ia at 50s per ton for 26 gauge. Best Sydney copra has advanced to LI 6 per ton. The Times, in the course of an article to-day, refers to the fact of the great reduction which has been manifested during the past year in the sale of alcoholic liquors in Great Britain, and expresses the opinion that the falling oif in consumption of spirits should greatly strengthen the sale of colonial wines in the English market. Tfie Times concludes by urging Australian growers to push the sale of their wines in England with energy.
