Mr Donald Strovach (on behalf of tha New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) reports for tho week ended April 5 at follows : Sheepskins —Prices at our Bale on Monday were firm at about the quotations of last week, and under good competition we sold at follows : Butchers' pelts and skins fetched from Bil to 2s 5d ; country skins, up to 5s ; lamb skins, Is 3d to 2s 7d ; greasy skins (in bale*), 6 j.l per Ib. Hides — We have cleared all coming to hard at our last quotations— say 41 por 1b for well-trimmed heavy hides in good condition, and 3d to 3jd for hides light or out of condition. Tallow — We did not offer any this week. Gram— Wheat : There is no eh 'nge to report. Consignments of prime milling cm be placed readily at 4s 6d to 4i 7d, but miller* evince no disposition to lay in stock at present prices. Medium deicriptions are not much esquired for, but fowl-feed is scarce and commands a ready ale. We quote prime milling 4s 6d to 4a 7d ; medium. 3<i Od to 4s 4d ; fowl feed and inferior, 2s 6d to 3s 6d. Oats : Quotations show a further advance, and there was no difficulty in disposing thereat of all parcels coming to hand. We quote prime milling 3* to 3< Id ; bright feed, 2s lid to 3a per bushel. Baric/ : Nothing to report. We have enquiries for good samples of malting barley We report large auction sales by this company at Waimate on tha 3d intt., at which wheat sold at from 4s 2d to 4s 5d ; old oats, 3* Id to 3s 2>l ; and barley, up to 4s 4d. Rye-grass seed : 4s 6d to 5s 31 is obtainable, acoording to condition of sample.
