London, April 5. Tho returns of tho elections, as f.ir ns known, show that 271 Liberals and 141 Conservatives havo been olootod, showing a majority of 130 to tho Liberals. Tho total number of soata gained by tho lattor ia 59, and thoir majority is already sufficient to make tliom quito indopondont of tho support of the Homo Itulo party. It is gonorally thought to be quito probable that Mr Gladstone will not accopt oflico should tho Liberals come into power. Tho olection for Middlesex took placo to-day, and resulted in tho return of tho two former members — Lord Goor«o Hamilton and Mr E. G. Cooper. Mr Horbort Gladstone, a son of tho ox-Pro-mior, who contested tho oloction, was defeated.
