August 30th, 1S63. BREACH OF SLA.UGIITEK-H0U6E ORDINANCE. John Bie.ikwell, of Timukn, was charged with killing for sale without being duly licensed, contiaiy to the piovisions of the Slaughter-house Ordinance. Thedffondantplendedth.it ns the disti icts had only lately been altcied, ho was perfectly ignoiant of a license being lequued, and The Magistrate, under the ciicumstances, dismissed the case, with a stiong caution.
BREACH OF POLICE ORDINANCE. Peter M\N"air was fined 10s. and costs, for allowing a sledge to be diiven in the public stieets, contiaiy to the piovibions of the Police Oidinance, the Magistrate at same tune lemaikuig that it was a highly dangerous piactice, and that serious accidents might result iu consequence.
CIVIL LIST. The following cases were settled out of Court : — M'Donald v. M'Lean, L15 ; Peckham (a Maori) v. M'Bratney, L7 Gs. ; and Solomon Pohio (a Maori) v. M'Biatuey, L5 3s.
