AGRICULTURAL.

Farmers have been mostly engaged in thrashing their crops for some time past, and the yield in moat jnatancea is beyond their expectations. There is not much encouragement to bring the grain into the market, as prices are ruinously low, compared with the rate of labor ; in fact, those cultivators depending on hired labor, had better lay up their ploughs than attempt to grow oats at 2s 6d to 3s per bushel, with wages at present rates. Where wheat has been grown it should pay better. Prices are nominally— "Wheat, 6s to 6s 6d ; oats, 3s to " 3s 6d j barley, no sales ; potatoes, TA to L5 per ton ; flour (Adelaide), L30 ; Chilian, L26 ; bran, 2s 9d per bushel.
