Victoria Valley W.I.

The Victoria Valley Women’s Institute held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, when Mrs. H. Tracey presided over an exceptionally good attendance. The meeting opened with the reading of the Aspirations, after which much business was discussed. Visitors were welcomed by Mrs. Tracey. Competitions for the day were won by Mrs. L. Thompson and Mrs. Percy Thompson. Competitions for the month were as follows : Cauliflower—Mrs. Ross White 1, Mrs. K. Tracey 2 ; Hen Eggs Mrs. Ross White 1, Mrs. H. Thompson and Mrs. E. White 2 ; Duck Eggs—Mrs. Chas. Petersen 1 ,Mrs. W. Coulter 2; Bloom Mrs. C. Petersen 1, Mrs. M. Panther and Mrs. H. Tracey 2 ; Worked Buttonhole—Mrs. Petersen 1, Mrs. Hoskin, Mrs. Ross White and Mrs. Walter Coulter 2. Mrs. Percy ’ Thompson and Mrs. North Snr. were social hostesses. Competitions for next month will be : Thrift . Article. 3 Bulb Flowers (different) And Plate Tart. The roil call will be a riddle. After luncheon was served, the ; meeting was closed with the singing of the National Anthem. As this was Church Guild day, after the Institute meeting was closed the W.I. ladies joined forces with the Guild ladies and they all had a very enjoyable afternoon together.
